How Month Calculations Work
Adding months to a date advances the month number while keeping the day number the same. If the target month has fewer days, the date is capped:
| Start Date | + Months | Result | Notes |
|---|
| Jan 15 | +1 | Feb 15 | Same day, next month |
| Jan 31 | +1 | Feb 28/29 | Capped at month end |
| Mar 30 | +1 | Apr 30 | Same day, next month |
| May 31 | +1 | Jun 30 | June has only 30 days |
