๐ก How to Calculate Concrete Column Volume
For rectangular columns: volume = width ร depth ร height. For round columns: volume = ฯ ร rยฒ ร height. Common residential columns are 12ร12 inches square or 12 inches diameter. Structural columns may be 18โ36 inches.
All concrete columns require reinforcement โ typically 4 vertical #5 or #6 bars with #3 ties every 12 inches. Forms must be plumb, braced, and oiled before pouring. Vibrate the concrete during placement to eliminate air pockets.
