๐ก How to Calculate Gable Wall Area
A gable wall is the triangular end wall of a building where the roof slopes meet. Area = (base ร height) / 2. Most homes have two gable ends. Include gable area in your siding, sheathing, and painting calculations.
For siding coverage, add 10% waste for cutting triangular pieces. For sheathing (4ร8 sheets), divide the total area by 32 sq ft per sheet. Gable vents, if present, reduce the area slightly.
