💡 How to Calculate Gutter Materials

Gutter length equals the total roof edge (eave) length where you want gutters installed — typically the front and back of the house, plus any side sections. Standard gutter sections are 10 feet long. Downspouts should be placed every 30–40 feet and at each end of a gutter run.

For each downspout, plan 3 elbows (2 at the top to transition from gutter to wall, 1 at the bottom to direct water away). Brackets or hangers are installed every 3 feet along the gutter. End caps close off the gutter ends, and inside/outside corner pieces join gutter runs at angles.
