๐Ÿ’ก How Much Sod Do I Need?

Standard sod rolls are 2 ft ร— 5 ft = 10 sq ft each. A pallet contains approximately 450 sq ft of sod (45 rolls). Calculate your lawn area, add 5โ€“10% for waste (cutting around edges, irregular shapes, and damaged pieces), then divide by 10 for rolls or 450 for pallets.

Sod costs $0.30โ€“$0.80 per sq ft for the sod itself, plus $0.50โ€“$1.00 per sq ft for professional installation. A 2,000 sq ft lawn costs $600โ€“$1,600 for sod alone, or $1,600โ€“$3,600 installed. Prepare the soil (grade, amend, water) before sod delivery day.

2,000 sq ft lawn + 10% waste = 2,200 sq ft. That's 220 rolls or about 4.9 pallets. Cost range: $660โ€“$1,760 for sod. Installed: $1,760โ€“$3,960.
