What is MPGe?
MPGe (Miles Per Gallon equivalent) is the EPA metric for comparing the fuel efficiency of electric vehicles to gasoline vehicles. It is based on the energy equivalence: 33.7 kWh of electricity = 1 gallon of gasoline (in terms of energy content).
How MPGe is Calculated
MPGe = 33.7 / (kWh per mile)
Or equivalently: MPGe = 33.7 × mi/kWh
