EV trip cost = (distance Γ· efficiency in km/kWh) Γ electricity rate. For a 500 km trip at 6 km/kWh and 0.15/kWh: 83.3 kWh Γ 0.15 = 12.50. Compare this with the petrol equivalent.
For road trips using DC fast charging, costs are higher than home rates. Enter both your home rate and the DC fast rate you expect to pay for accurate trip cost estimates.
