๐Ÿ’ก Blood Pressure Categories

Blood pressure is measured in mmHg as systolic/diastolic. Categories: Normal <120/80, Elevated 120-129/<80, High Stage 1: 130-139 or 80-89, High Stage 2: โ‰ฅ140 or โ‰ฅ90, Crisis: >180 or >120.

One reading isn't diagnostic โ€” blood pressure varies throughout the day. Measure at the same time daily for a week to get a reliable average. Morning readings (before coffee/medication) are most informative.

120/80 mmHg = Normal. 135/85 = High Stage 1 (lifestyle changes needed). 160/100 = High Stage 2 (medication likely needed).
