๐Ÿ’ก How Altitude Affects Golf Shots

At higher altitudes, air density decreases โ€” less drag on the ball means it flies farther. The rule of thumb: approximately 1% extra distance for every 300 meters (1,000 feet) of elevation.

This effect is most noticeable on full shots and least on putts. Denver (1,609m) adds ~5% distance. Mexico City (2,250m) adds ~7.5%. High-altitude courses like those in Colorado routinely play 8-10% longer than sea level.
