💡 The Mid-Parental Height Method

For boys: (father's height + mother's height + 13 cm) / 2. For girls: (father's height + mother's height − 13 cm) / 2. The 13 cm accounts for the average height difference between adult males and females.

This method predicts adult height within ±8.5 cm for about 95% of children. Actual height depends on genetics (from both parents and extended family), nutrition, health during childhood, and timing of puberty.

Father 175 cm, Mother 162 cm: Boy's predicted height = (175 + 162 + 13) / 2 = 175 cm. Range: 166.5 – 183.5 cm.
