Calories burned = MET ร— weight (kg) ร— time (hours). MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) represents the energy cost relative to rest. Walking = 2.5-4.3 MET, running = 8-12 MET, cycling = 7-10 MET.

Higher body weight burns more calories for the same activity and duration. Intensity matters more than duration โ€” 30 minutes of running burns more than 60 minutes of walking.

70 kg, 30 min running at 8 km/h (MET 8.3): 290 kcal burned. Same person, 30 min walking: 88 kcal.
